Jaime aka “El Jimmy” aus Madrid spielt schon seit 1984 in diversen Hardcorepunk-Bands und hat nun vier Songs als One-Man-Band aufgenommen. Hier ziehe ich erstmal den Hut vor dem bedingungslosen D.I.Y.-Aktionismus, die Schwächen der Platte werden aber schnell offensichtlich: ein ziemlich flacher Sound und vor allem ist Jimmys sonorer Sprechgesang sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig.
Dabei ist zum Beispiel ein Song wie “Remember yourself” an und für sich eine gute thrashige HC-Nummer im Stile metallischer BAD BRAINS, der allerdings etwas Wichtiges fehlt, nämlich ein kräftiger Schreihals.

El Jimmy fue el guitarrista del grupo hardcore S.D.O100%V, ahora ha vuelto a la actualidad con un EP autoproducido que contiene un puñado de trallazos hardcore que suenan a vieja escuela. En la siguiente entrevista nos cuenta sus inquietudes y pensamientos

En la siguiente entrevista nos cuenta sus inquietudes y pensamientos actuales: • ¿Qué nos puedes contar sobre S.D.O.100%V?
S.D.O.100%V ha sido la mejor banda en la que he estado, creo que era una banda como las que no hay. He tenido mejores músicos, pero creo que nunca habrá tan buen rollo con la gente y tan pocos problemas que los que había entonces.
• ¿Has hecho algo, musical o artísticamente hablando entre S.D.O.100%V y las nuevas canciones que acabas de publicar?
He tenido varias bandas como Ni Que Niño Muerto, Only For Fun, Caída Hacia El Techo o Semptex que luego fue Strawberry Hardcore, pero sin éxito
El Jimmy• ¿Qué te ha impulsado a volver a la actividad?
Dominar nuevos aparatos e instrumentos.
• ¿Por qué has elegido el formado de “One Man Band“?
Por que es la mejor manera de desarrollar tus conocimientos, ideas y creaciones.
• ¿Todo lo que se escucha son instrumentos reales o hay programaciones para las baterías o cosas así?
La batería son sonidos reales disparados y creados con código de tiempo con varios programas. No hay sentimientos en la base rítmica, no hay fallos que hacen que lo demás se caiga. Los coros los hacen mis colegas. Los instrumentos y las voces los he tocado y grabado solo yo.
• El sonido es realmente rudo… recuerda a como sonaban las maquetas hardcore y punk de hace … Me imagino que algo pretendido con toda la intención… ¿Con qué medios has contado para hacer la grabación?
Esa era mi intención… tengo un estudio en mi cuarto con instrumentos y aparatos de marcas de las que ahora no hago publicidad. También puedo diseñar mis propios plug-ins y otras cosillas.
El Jimmy• ¿Los temas los compusiste con tiempo y despacito… o fue por un impulso que te llevo a hacerlos y grabarlos de inmediato?
Algunos de los temas son de cuando no existía el compact disc. Han pasado por muchas manos, pero aunque tarde, al final han visto la luz realmente como son…..
• Para editarlos has creado tu propio sello, Jimbo Records… ¿Es una etiqueta puntual para publicar este trabajo y siguientes que puedas hacer o puede estar abierto a otros grupos?
Jimbo Records se creo para contratarme legalmente y sin depender de nadie, aprovechar temas
que otras bandas no podían tocar. Estoy abierto a futuros proyectos dentro de la escena hc-punk y colaboro con mucha gente.
• Contactaste con nosotros a través de Internet, pero luego nos hiciste llegar tu disco junto a un flyer a la antigua usanza… ¿Cómo has visto el radical cambio en los medios que disponen los grupos underground para darse a conocer? ¿Echas de menos el encanto de cómo se hacían las cosas antes?
Creo que hay que aprovecharse de las nuevas tecnologías… Antes no hacia las cosas yo y no tenia los problemas que tengo ahora, pero tampoco aprendía nada.

• El espíritu “hazlo tu mismo” esencial en el hardcore ahora lo utiliza mucha gente de múltiples estilos… ¿Te sigues siento reflejado por tus sentimientos y posturas de tu etapa en S.D.O.100%V?
S.d.o.100%v nunca fue un grupo d.i.y.
• ¿Qué tal estás moviendo tus nuevas canciones? ¿Has logrado contactar con fans de tu antigua banda?
Tengo problemas con la distribución y no gasto en publicidad lo que debería. Ahora con Internet nadie compra música. He contactado con gente de el resto del globo y también con gente que conocía a S.D.O..
El Jimmy• ¿Tienes ideas de reclutar músicos y llevar estas canciones al directo?”El Jimmy” de momento es un proyecto de estudio y de una sola persona, que cada músico debería hacer como la gente se psicoanaliza.
• ¿Tienes ya en mente nuevas canciones?
Tengo pensado editarme un full lenght con mas de 10 temas dentro de un año más o menos.
